Invitiation to Henry Olonga

Who are we?

Gold Street Chapel is an independent Christian congregation located in the heart of Saffron Walden. We are members locally of Churches Together in Saffron Walden, and nationally of the Evangelical Alliance. We are also members of Partnership, a charitable organisation providing support to independent local churches.

Our aim is to make Jesus central to our lives and our relationships, and to provide an open and welcoming community within which anyone can explore what it means to be a Christian in today's world.

Sunday services

On Sundays we meet for services at 10.30 in the morning and 6.30 in the evening.
Children and young people form a large proportion of those present on Sunday mornings, but we span all ages and a wide variety of backgrounds. We normally hold our morning services in the local secondary school, which allows us more room than the chapel can provide.

Our evening services are always at the chapel in Gold Street, as are many of our weekday meetings. Click here for a map showing these locations. You can view a list of services for the coming month by selecting the Services option in the menu to the left.

Invitation to Silent prayer

Silent prayer at Gold Street
Once a month we meet to explore silent prayer and offer each other mutual support as we learn this way of listening to God. If you missed our evening on 17th May, the next opportunities will be 21st June and 26th July, again at 8pm.

Weekday home groups

We believe that it takes more than just Sunday meetings to build a community that reflects the love of Jesus. For this reason we provide opportunities to get together informally during the week, normally in someone's home. Find out more...
